She stares at him. Blinks. “Lance, please, this isn’t time for one of your jokes–”

He furrows his eyebrows and struggles to sit up, to stop leaning into the cradle of her arms. “I’m not–I’m not…joking.”

After sacrificing himself to save Allura, Lance wakes up in a strange new world where the only thing he knows is a deep connection to a boy he doesn’t remember. ⭐️

Like A Second Heart by AQuietDin – Rating: Mature – Word Count: 20,958 – Excerpt: “How old are you?”

Eighteen.”

Twin gasps came from either side of him. To his left, Shiro’s brown eyes were wide, his mouth closed in a tight line. To his right, Pidge’s jaw hung lose, her eyebrows cinched under her hair.

“Was…” Lance glanced around. “Was that wrong?”

Lion Heart by: ErinWantstoWrite Rating: T+ Word Count: 10,235 Summary: Lance can’t remember. He doesn’t know where he is, why he’s on this strange planet- yeah a planet that isn’t earth- he’s just fourteen! Why was he here? Where was his mom? His big sister? Why was this giant, mechanical, blue lion comforting him? Why were these people talking to him through a helmet, even if he couldn’t answer? How does he get out of this suit-Who are those purple dudes outside of the lion?

Something Blue by jilliancares, rating: G, Word Count: 10,114, Summary: Keith has the oddest feeling that he’s forgetting something, that something’s out of place. He just can’t put his finger on it…

Due to a mysterious monster Voltron faced, and a sacrifice that no one remembers, the entire universe forgot that Lance existed. Keith’s the only one who seems to realize that something is amiss.

Sting Not So Sharp by bubblebucky, Rating: ?, Word Count: 2.434, Summary: Lance falls down an ice rift, and no one can reach him. The process of freezing to death is not a fun one, nor is what comes after. (temporary amnesia * NOT a death fic)

Surprise! We’re in Love! by CaffeinatedFlumadiddle, Rating: ?, Word Count: 21,307, Summary: Lance gets a small bout of amnesia after a mission. This is understandably stressful. Keith… Accidentally makes a mess of the situation. There are no ‘breathers’ in war by willadisastercry, rating: not rated, word count: 10,266, Summary: Lance ignores his asthma and Coran is not willing to be an accomplice.

It hadn’t been much of a problem in space… until now.

He’s on his last inhaler but it’s been running low for about a month. He thought he’d be okay relying on the dehumidifier Pidge rigged up for his room while he milked what was left of it, and he had been relatively fine with just that. It’d actually been weeks since he had an attack. But his lungs are acting up again and he’s officially out of medicine right when Shiro has an agility test planned.

BLIND/TEMPORARILY BLINDED

Blind by: T_Hurricane – Rating: T+, Word Count: 6,006 – Summary: A temporarily blind Paladin isn’t a liability, right?

Keith isn’t a liability… right??

The team knows that he isn’t – but Keith needs to be convinced of that.
Good thing that his boyfriend Lance is there for him and to make it clear that having someone to take care of you is okay.

Blind Affection by: jilliancares, Rating: M – Word Count: 25,887 – Summary: After Lance gets injured in battle he finds himself without his eyesight, a situation he never would’ve expected himself to get into. Half expecting to get kicked off the team, Lance is determined to train harder and keep the fact that he’s upset about his loss of eyesight from his teammates. No harm ever comes from bottling everything up, right?

(Wrong. Also Keith helps him train. Also Lance shows Keith proper skin care. Also Lance has a huge crush on Keith. Also maybe being blind’s gonna help him get in Keith’s pants [and heart].)

(Restricted) Bright Eyes by: amycoolz, SylWritesStuff, Word Count: 212,439, Rating: Explicit, Summary: When Keith agrees to meet Hunk for a study session at the mall food court, he isn’t expecting him to bring his roommate. He isn’t expecting to be asked on a date, to accept, and to enjoy himself more than he has in years. He’s definitely not expecting to get wrapped up in the world of a blind Cuban and the grief he carries right next to hope.

Drowning in a Sea of Stars by: plumeriafairy14, Word Count: 4,991, Rating: T+, Summary: Lance never thought that he’d see the very stars of the universe in the shattered irises of someone who would never see them. Or him.
Even so, that will not stop Lance from making Keith see how truly beautiful he is to him.

Love is Blind by: ghostholly – Word Count: 8,117 – rating: T+ Summary: Keith recoiled. He didn’t do anything! All he did was grab the stupid device to look at Lance’s stupid vitals, and-. Keith looked down at the device, saw how his thumb was still sitting perfectly on a large red button that Keith could only guess was the Altean word for ‘EJECT.’ The heartbeat sensor in the corner was beating rapidly. Oh crap…

// or; Keith accidentally releases Lance from the cryo pod a couple of ticks too early

Whatever It Takes by Saerus2665 – Rating: T – Word Count 43,892 – Summary: Lance wished he was strong enough to just let himself waste away in his cell, he wished he was strong enough yell and scream and shout obscenities and challenges in a true Keith fashion until the guards came bursting through the door and finally took him out.

But his mouth wouldn’t work and his heart beat too quick in his chest and he just. Couldn’t.

Or: Lance ends up trapped in the hands of the Galra after betraying team Voltron in order to save them. Fully realizing that he may very well die in here Lance is comforted by the fact that at least he was able to save his friends…That is, until one day an all too familiar Blade member gets tossed into his prison cell with a blindfold strapped to his face. Lance now has to focus on trying to save the life of the only person left to pilot the red lion. He’s determined to get Keith out alive, and there’s a fleeting chance that he might be able to do it, but that is only if Keith can learn to sit down and shut up, and only if the Galra don’t discover the reason their druids can’t access the bond between Lance and his former lion, only if Keith doesn’t find him out and try to kill him first.

CHRONICALLY SICK/ILL/HURT

Back to the Wall by SirCumference Rating: Mature Word Count: 125,777 Summary: Look, Lance is fine, okay? He’s doing great, actually. He’s starting to climb again, he’s got amazing friends that love him, his bladder is super healthy right now, and he’s finally sworn off dating! Which was a great idea, really. Best idea ever. It’s just too bad he meets Keith. Dude’s gonna throw all his plans out of whack. OR a climbing gym AU where Keith is a lonely bike mechanic with a cute dog, and Lance is a grad student with a chronic illness. They reconnect after a past hook up and things sort of spiral from there. (AU)

CURSED/POISONED

and i will find you by jilliancares – Rating: Explicit – Word Count: 58,724 – Summary: After a run-in with an angry queen, Keith is left to travel through alternate realities — ones that are entirely too good to be true — because in each and every one of them, he’s dating Lance. Keith struggles to find his way back to his own reality, all while trying not to fall more and more in love with Lance in every new one he experiences.

Beneath the Cold by: iybms, Word Count: 4,851, Rating: T+, Summary: It was a fairly simple spell, they said. The simplest they could cast that would be equal to the favor team Voltron asked of them. The specifics still elude Lance. What he does understand is this:

One of the Paladins has to get knocked out.

calling me to come back by: aknightley, Word Count: 59,464, Rating: T+, Summary: Keith is a witch who owns a shop where he breaks curses on both magical items and people under spells. Love spells, family curses passed down generations, cursed heirlooms lurking the attic — he can handle them all. But one day a boy named Lance walks into his shop, and his curse is darker and more difficult to break than anything Keith has ever seen before: the curse is draining his magic, and without his magic, Lance will die.

Feelings On Fire (Guess I’m A Bad Liar) • by: melancholymango, word count: 22,679, rating: G, Summary: “I don’t know, it kinda makes sense?” Hunk suggested carefully, picking Lance’s legs up just enough to sit down beneath them and then allowing them to fall onto his lap. Hunk rubbed soothingly at Lance’s calves, the blue paladin having gone back to hiding his face in the cushions. “The witch wanted to teach Lance a lesson in truthfulness and if there’s anyone that Lance lies to the most, it’s Keith. I mean, he acts like he hates the guy when in reality he-”

“Doesn’t.” Lance grit out, word slightly distorted and muffled from where his face currently was. He lifted his head, looking back at Hunk with a glare. “We don’t need to go into detail about it, Hunk.”

(AKA that one fic where Lance is cursed to be honest to and about the person he lies to more than anyone else. Hijinks ensue.)

Of Ice and Fire by: knifeboye – Word Count: 4,845 – Rating: T+ – Summary: Lance would go to hell and back for Keith.
Or, well, jump off a cliff for him, at least.

Ripped Open, Unsightly (let yourself be loved when you’re ugly) by:
artimess_chimes, Rating: Mature, Word Count: 17,994 – Summary: “What even happened?” Lance asked, disoriented and still cold, still aching.

“You hid an injury.” Keith was at the end of the cot, gripping the bed frame with knuckles turned white. He looked so angry his face had gone pale in places, and he trembled. His black eyes danced like hot coals in the base of a fire. “And then you took on a druid all by yourself and got yourself cursed.”

or Lance has self-esteem issues. It takes a druids curse to help bring them to light so that he can be loved.

To Tell the Truth by tomino Rating: General – Word Count: 2,923 Summary – Other than a few scuffs on his armor, Lance looks unharmed – but he just stares stupidly at the Red paladin’s outstretched hand instead of trying to rise. Keith leans closer.

“The fight’s still on, you coming?”

Lance looks up suddenly. “Dude you… you have really beautiful eyes, did you know that? I feel like nobody has told you that.”

Uhhhhhhh.

Lance is hit with a truth serum, and his unintended honesty hour will continue until Voltron finds the cure planet-side. Keith, meanwhile, can’t shake off the part where Lance is… flirting? With him??

DE!AGED

My Youth Is Yours by: MilkTeaMiku, Rating: G, Word Count: 11,198 Summary: An unforseen blast in the middle of a battle de-ages Lance into a child for a week. Keith does not understand babies.

Lion Heart by: ErinWantstoWrite Rating: T+ Word Count: 10,235 Summary:- Lance can’t remember.

Raindrops on Roses by: zipadeea – Rating: T+, Word Count: 9,763, Summary: “Lance, you can’t just add ‘space’ to everything, just because we’re in, well, space.”

“Oh c’mon, it works, though! Spaceship, Space Mall, Space Dad-,”

“What?”

“Shiro is our Space Dad, Keith. Obviously. Sheesh, I thought you were smart.” The paladins call Shiro Space Dad. Shiro knows this. Here’s four times they say it out loud, and the one time Shiro’s finally okay with it.

Seven(teen) Again by PinkParakeet, Rating: T+, Word Count: 2,222, – (*TW past abuse – please read the tags) Summary: No one ever suspected something was wrong with Lance. Sure, maybe he flinched at the tiniest noise or movement, and maybe he was too much of a people pleaser. But some people are just like that, right? aka: Lance is turned into a child and also gets help (eventually) aka: 5 times the team suspected something was up with Lance, 1 time they realised what it was, and the results.

Sleep Well, My Son by IcyPanther, Rating: G, Word Count: 2,707, Summary: A tiny accident becomes literal when Lance is turned into a child with no recollection from his older self. Coran has hopes the effects will be relatively short-term, but in the meantime he has a scared child that needs both reassurance and care. And while Coran might not have had the chance to be a father… he feels like one now.

DEAF / HEARING IMPAIRMENT / LOSS OF HEARING

Blast Zone by bubblebucky – In the middle of a mission, a bomb going off leaves Lance unable to hear. Still, while he’s deaf, the rest of his team are the ones that won’t listen. ⭐️

I Can’t Hear You by: Far_Beyond_The_UniverseT+ – Word Count: 14,272 – Summary: The other paladins (and Coran) are so frustrated with Keith and Lance’s endless fighting that they take some drastic measures and put into place a device that prevents them from being able to hear each other. Without each other’s voices both become incredibly lonely and start seeking one another out even if it’s just silent company.

Moth and Flame by wittyy_name – Rating: M – Word Count: 33,335 – Summary: Keith has been coming back to Altea Tattoos for months now, and it has little to do with the fact that his best friend is the piercer and more to do with the beautiful tattoo artist with talented hands and a smile that makes him weak at the knees.

Lance has had a lot of customers in his days, left his mark on plenty of people, but none so memorable as Keith. He finds himself turning to the door with every chime of the bell, hoping to see eyes like the night sky and a shy smile that could rival the moon.

When they meet at a concert, the spark between them ignites, creating a heat that’s impossible to resist. They’re both inexplicably drawn to each other. Like a moth to a flame. ✨

EMOTIONAL HURT/COMFORT

Calendar by ErinWantsToWrite, Rating: not rated – Word Count: 1,987, Summary: Pidge had built a calendar for the paladins. Just to check the days on Earth. Hunk told Lance not to look today. Lance did it anyway.

In Your Eyes, There is (no) Hope for Tomorrow by hcneylesbian, Rating: T+, Word Count: 2,206 Summary: -“C’mon, I know you don’t want to be stuck with me for eternity, but I know you can put up with one night.”

Keith was There by Saerwenn – When Keith realizes something is bothering Lance, he tries to get to the bottom of it. Meanwhile, Lance is struggling with the events of his own death, and isolating himself without realizing it. Can his self-proclaimed rival really get Lance to open up?

Things We’ve Never Said by casatella, Rating: T+, Word Count: 11,192 Summary – After everything he’s gone through, it’s no surprise that Lance suffers from frequent nightmares but he can’t bring himself to seek help for fear of judgement. That is, until Keith finds out and decides to do something about it. [Or some conversations Keith and Lance desperately need to have.]

Trembling Lips by nonna – Rating: G – Word Count: 17,877 – Summary: Lance is an emotional person who cries easily (and does the trembly-lip thing a lot) but tries to stay strong in front of the team.

// OR Five times Lance stopped himself from crying in front of his teammates, and the one time he couldn’t hold it back.

HANAHAKI DISEASE

Bloom by AstroLatte, Rating: T+, Word Count: 7,450“Keith,” Veronica says, worrying her lip between her teeth and looking up to him with the same blue eyes he would know anywhere. “I think he’s sick.”

Lance falls victim to an ancient Altean disease that manifests a flower in the lungs of someone suffering from unrequited love and Keith finds himself facing his own feelings in the process.

Never Knew the Summer Woods by Mytay – Word Count Count: 11,303 – Rating: T+ – Summary: Keith has lost too many things in his life, and so his instincts are honed to avoid attachments — the best protection against the inevitable pain. This strategy works quite well …

Until it doesn’t. Until it has a consequence that Keith never could have predicted — one that could be fatal.

when you touch me i die (just a little inside) by: dumdum69 – Rating: G – Word Count: 34,210 – Summary: “How did you know you were in love with this person?” Lance asks, blurting the question out, almost frantic, face glowing a faint red.

“Oh,” Keith says, frowning, “Uh, I guess…”

Desire is a destruction, a death, a star, snuffed out like the butt of a cigarette. I would die for you, Keith wants to tell him. I need to die for you. Keith doesn’t know what else to do but die for Lance.

“I just… knew, I don’t really know how to describe it,” Keith says, lamely, “I mean, it’s – it’s when someone means the world to you. You – you feel warm.”

“Oh,” Lance says, voice barely a whisper, and Keith can hear the thunderclap of his heart, rattling heavily in his chest.

Keith is dying. Lance comes along for the miserable ride to eternity.

HOMESICK

Of Friends and Rivals (And Lovers) by: vrepit_nah Word Count: 6,132 Rating: T+ Summary: Lance McClain has a big family, and that means no one is really ever alone in a room at any point of time. It becomes unnatural for him to feel when he’s in space in a huge castle with barely any people.

So, he tries to fill the hole in his heart by seeking out his teammates.

It strikes Keith odd one day when Lance begins hanging out with him instead of his other friends, and worst of all, it seems like Lance is caving in on himself without anyone noticing.

Or: 5 times Lance seeks out to hang out with a friend, and the one time he doesn’t.

Quiet Your Pain, Suffer in Silence by IcyPanther – Lance has never liked the quiet and he likes it even less on this big, empty castle far away from home. He tries to fill it with stories and laughter so it doesn’t feel quite as lonely. But lately whenever Lance opens his mouth all he seems to do is upset people, annoy people and now… now he’s hurt them too. So there’s only one solution. He just won’t ever talk again.

Trembling Lips by: Nonna– Lance is an emotional person who cries easily (and does the trembly-lip thing a lot) but tries to stay strong in front of the team. OR – Five times Lance stopped himself from crying in front of his teammates, and the one time he couldn’t hold it back

Unfamiliar Stars by IcyPanther – Going to the beach had been a mistake. Homesickness had spurred Lance to it but now it’s crashing down as surely as the waves and threatening to drown him. And if that gnawing, painful ache wasn’t bad enough, now Keith has caught him crying. But to Lance’s surprise, maybe… maybe this wasn’t such a mistake after all.

HYPOTHERMIA

Deep Blue Depths by: suhcelia – Word Count: 11,408 – Rsting: T+ – Summary: After Red gets damaged in a battle with the Galra, Keith crash lands on -or rather in- an ice encrusted water planet. With Red sinking fast, Keith is able to make it to the surface, but the freezing water pulls him back under. He’s saved from the water by a certain blue paladin, but the effects of being in that freezing alien water take its toll on Keith. Lance must help his friend while also trying to locate the Red lion, for Keith’s sake and Voltron’s.

Finding Home by: knifeboye – Word Count: 26,966 – Rating: Mature – Summary: After the wormhole collapses, Keith finds himself stranded on a strange planet. Alone. Until Lance comes along.
With their lions dead and resources limited, Keith and Lance need to put aside their differences and work together to get home.
Wherever that may be, now.

Frozen Microwave Burrito by: T_Hurricane – Word Count: 4,528 – Rating: T+ – Summary: Keith and Lance crash on an ice planet after Voltron got hit with an ion canon blast right after disbanding.

They don’t know about the condition of the rest of the team or when they can get to them – so Keith does the best he can to find Lance and warm him up in Black after he had been flung out of Red after they hit the surface.

Time is running out though, because Black is loosing power as well.

Huddling for Warmth: The Movie by: maychorian, Word Count: 5,171, Rating: G, Summary: The paladins are heading back to the Castle of Lions after another successful mission when Shiro suddenly realizes that something is wrong. Lance isn’t responding on the comms.

Sting Not So Sharp by: bubblebucky – Lance falls down an ice rift, and no one can reach him. The process of freezing to death is not a fun one, nor is what comes after. (Not a death fic)

Tea is Universal by: Le_Tournesol – Word Count: 3,693 – Rating: T+ – Summary: “I mean, it’s just leaves. Tea has to be universal.”

Or, Lance and Keith explore an ice planet during a blizzard.

LOVEBUG

(bitten/poisoned/cursed by a creature, alien, etc.)

Antidote by ardenrabbitBased very loosely off of @eyugho’s lovebug AU, which I love more than anything?? Thanks to them for starting this wonderful AU! Keith’s bitten by a lovebug, but this one doesn’t make him all cuddly. Instead, every moment he spends away from Lance is physically painful for him. That’s frustrating enough already without Keith having to hide his massive crush. Lance just wants to help, but he knows that Keith doesn’t like to be touched. Also hiding a massive crush, because these two are horrible at communication. This is a story about letting people in, and learning to let yourself be loved. Keith needs a lot of that.

Love Bite(s) by ArchetypeOfAdespota – In which Keith gets bitten by a Love Bug, and Lance is less okay with this than anyone honestly expected. ⭐

moderation by Katranga, Rating: T, Word Count: 21,613 – Keith gets bits by a love bug and falls for Lance. Allura gets bit and falls for Hunk. The only problem is that Keith already has a real, overwhelming crush on Lance, so he decides to only do what Allura does so he doesn’t give himself away. A plan that rapidly falls apart. ⭐️

MUTE / SELECTIVE MUTISM

Not Deaf by: Spagheddje – Rating: G – Word Count: 1,429 – Summary: “Hey!” He was almost yelling now. Keith paused in his movements, turning to look at him. “Are you deaf?”

Keith frowned, and Lance felt a pang of guilt. Keith quickly fumbled with his hands in Shiro’s direction, then stood and left the cafeteria before Shiro had the chance to respond.

Also known as the one where Keith is Mute and Lance is trying his hardest here.

Silence has a Sound by: snugsformugs – Rating: T+ – Word Count: 16,577 – Summary: Keith Kogane has chosen not to speak out loud to anyone and has maintained that for over three years. He has no friends, no family, no real life.

That is until three new people basically force him to be their friend. They all decide to protect this boy from all kinds of harm and Keith is just Confused as to what they want from him.

But at least they are kind of nice to him.

When Wishes come True by SherbetLemon – Four Paladins make four ill-considered wishes: ‘I wish Lance would shut the fuck up.’
‘Yeah, well I wish Keith’s mullet would fall off,’ / ‘I wish they’d be more honest with each other,’ / ‘Yeah I wish they’d just kiss and make up already.’
The only problem being: they come true. Keith is left bald, Lance voiceless and the two are saying way more than they intend to. Add in one unexplained kiss and Lance is reeling. The two go back to the planet to make one final wish and end up growing closer. Lance makes some startling revelations.

(You Can) Drop Your Facade by orphan_account – It was meant to be some sort of experiment. Admittedly, a rather twisted one, but an experiment nonetheless. He had not meant to take it this far, but unfortunately, he did. Lance McClain has not spoken in over half a year. No one has noticed.

PHYSICALLY HURT

A Bright Light by: Bandity, Word Count: 9,413, Rating: T+, Summary: Lance gets injured on a mission gone wrong, but that was really only the beginning of his problems.

Blast Zone by bubblebucky – In the middle of a mission, a bomb going off leaves Lance unable to hear. Still, while he’s deaf, the rest of his team are the ones that won’t listen. ⭐️

bonding moments and other forgotten things by: coldville – Rating: G, Word Count: 5,004 – Excerpt/Summary: “You need to get this cleaned, Lance. Why didn’t you tell us?”

Lance swallows thickly and shrugs. “I didn’t think it was that bad.”

An addition to the Space Mall episode, highlighting Lance’s rough hit near the end. Not to mention the talk that comes after.

Burned Out Series by qjett, Word Count: 10,487, Rating: T…

Part OneHurt I Can’t Shake – Summary: Lance is lonely these days. No one seems to notice.

Part Two Eyes Just Like Mine – Summary: Lance is lonely these days. No one seems to notice.

Until they do.

Escape Pod by IcyPanther – A promising alliance goes sideways with Lance and Keith caught in the middle. They’ve got to get out of there and fast and that means taking the first available transport out. Which apparently means a small, cramped escape pod that was not meant for two humans. And most definitely not meant for a human who is not only claustrophobic but has a very, very bad concussion.

Fighting the Surface by Tommino, Rating: T+, Word Count: 19,809“Humans have shown quite the impressive drive for survival,” the Galra commander grins. “I want to see you fight against that. The druids claim drowning is quite the painful way to go.” He tips Lance backward over the water, as Keith and Shiro struggle against their bonds. “If you surface, they die.”

Lance’s eyes widen and he’s pushed backward with a splash.

Keith, Shiro, and Lance are taken captive during a mission planet-side. The commander decides he only needs two paladins for interrogation, and decides to have a little fun while they wait for extraction. Lance is thrown into the deep with the threat that if he swims up for air, one of the other two will be shot. Obviously Lance would rather die than allow that. Later chapters will, of course, deal with Keith and Shiro losing their damn minds thinking Lance just drowned himself for them. ⭐️

Guilt, Silence and Causation by: taylor_tut – Lance, Keith, and Shiro crash on a planet and it’s kinda Lance’s fault. Shiro has a broken ankle, and even though Lance has a concussion and some burns from getting out of his lion into the flaming brush, he feels so guilty about the crash and hurting Shiro that he doesn’t tell the others. So while he and Keith are carrying Shiro, he just kind of out of nowhere starts to get sick and loopy and nonsensical and then just drops.

Heroism Gets You Killed by: teacupfulofbrains – Five times Lance McClain recklessly risked his life to prove his worth to his teammates, and one time they showed him he had nothing to prove.

Necessary by always_a_slut_for_hc – Keith screws up, Lance is captured, and the blue light of Voltron is dimmed. Who are you really, Lance? And what do you need?

on the line (stay with me) by: hiuythn – Rsting: Word Count: 4,491 – Summary: “I could show you,” Keith offers. “It’s quite the collection; kind of proud of it.”

Lance laughs faintly. “How about we save it for—for the next time we meet in person?”

“When’s that happening, by the way? It’s been a while.”

“Meaning you miss us dearly, don’t you?” he teases. Keith grumbles at him, and he grins to an absent audience. “But, ah, I don’t think we’ll see each other anytime, um, soon, unfortunately.”

“Things are getting busy on your end, huh?”

Lance hums. His gaze slides down to his right leg. To torn skin and shredded muscle, white bone peeking out. To blood, to a soaked-through suit, to the pool under his shin painting the snow-dusted ground a stark red.

He smiles weakly. “Something like that.”

Orange Chrysanthemum (AU) by: moe20112233, Word Count: 17,901, Rating: T+, Summary: After a devastating car accident in which Lance is left paralyzed from the waist down he must adjust to his new life while bound to a chair. However with the help of Keith, New York’s best Physical Therapist, he may have a chance of walking again.

Sting Not So Sharp by: bubblebucky – Lance falls down an ice rift, and no one can reach him. The process of freezing to death is not a fun one, nor is what comes after. (Not a death fic)

Sweet Quiznack by Checkered Cloth, Rating: T+, Word Count: 6,819“You’re really into him,” Hunk mutters, and wow, Lance’s face is on fire. Hunk is killing him.”Look, read into how you like, Freud, just make sure that if I die Keith knows I totally would’ve mowed his ass like grass. That way, I can laugh hysterically at his emotionally-constipated expression from the afterlife.” // Or: Lance is badly injured and has a few skeletons in his closet. Or maybe just the one.

Terminal Velocity by Speaks – The only fate worse than being tortured to death is watching, helpless, while the person you love most takes your place.

The Bitter Taste of Agony by bekka911 – space is not merciful to the kind-hearted. space is cold, and it expects you to become cold as well, because that is what countless others have done and now the art of gentleness and peace has long since faded into the fabric of war. it makes exceptions for nobody, not even the children that emerged as heroes. space is not kind to those who are kind in return. space is bitter and hurting and blood-stained and coldly beautiful and it turns it’s back on those who reach out for it with hope in their hearts and stars in their veins.

OR Blue knows that something is changing in her Paladin. He is souring and thinning and becoming something other. She feels it through him – the ground is hard under his feet and the air is thin and his heart beats too quickly and his bones sit awkwardly and he isn’t right. His thoughts are scrambled, his chest is hollow. He talks to her, and she lets him, but she knows that it’s a countdown until something goes horribly, horribly wrong. She can do nothing but watch.

The Storm in His Eyes, the Stars on His Cheeks by knifeboye – “I’m scared,” Lance revealed, and his voice was so small Keith almost missed it.

He felt something tug in his chest, and his fingers froze in Lance’s hair.

“Me, too.” Lance laughed at that, and his chest shook with the action. Keith watched as tears fell from his squinted eyes, rolling down his cheeks like shooting stars. “Good.”

OR: there’s a cave in, and Lance is self-sacrificing. hurt/comfort ensues.

What a Healing Pod Can’t Repair by Remember__Me – The compromised wormhole was ripping apart at the seams, sending everyone spiraling away in completely different directions. Lance could feel himself being pulled and bent in ways he was definitely not supposed to be. Stitching the team back together after everyone is separated is difficult, and for one Paladin rescue wouldn’t be coming for a very long time.

We could use your help out there, Lance. The team can’t keep making excuses for this. I can’t keep making excuses for this. You need to take responsibility for yourself. We’re supposed to be a team, not the team and Lance.”

Lance’s lips thinned and pressed together. “You must’ve been thinking on that one for a while.”

Keith sighed, “Yeah.”

The Sun is Rising Without You by Qpenguin98 – Lance wakes up with a headache pulsing behind the eye mask. He walks late to breakfast still dressed in his pajamas, somehow feeling less rested than he did before he went to sleep. He’s not quite sure what he dreamt about, but he knows it wasn’t pleasant.

Quiet by: taylor_tut Rating: G, Word Count: 1,687 – Lance is sick with a cold, but the other paladins are already cranky from a long day and snapping at him, so he tries to hide it until it turns into an upper respiratory infection.

He surveyed the room quickly to ensure everyone’s attention was on Allura before releasing a few muffled coughs into the sleeve of his sweater. He kept his mouth closed to try to contain the sound, but it didn’t seem to work, as everyone’s attention flickered to Lance as soon as he began to cough. …When Lance finally opened his teary eyes from the muffled fit, he met Shiro’s concerned gaze. Lance flashed a small smile to Allura when he realized that she’d stopped talking at some point during his fit. “Sorry,” he rasped painfully, so softly that it was almost a whisper, “Continue.”

“Lance, that sounds really bad,” Shiro noted. When Lance looked to the other paladins, expecting to see a semicircle of irritated faces, he was surprised to find that everyone–even Keith–looked more worried than angry. But his fevered brain didn’t get the message. “M’sorry,” he slurred, “Trying to be quiet.”

Anger dissipating like an exploded firework, Lance lets his hand fall limply to his side, mind blurring with static. When he tries to speak, nothing comes out but a choked noise, so he tries again.

“Keith,” he breathes. “Keith I’m not going to hurt you.”

(Keith has an abusive past, but with time and care Lance helps him become accustomed to positive touch.)

Rose-Colored Boy by melancholymango – “I missed you, you know.”

“Yeah?” Lance sighed, warm and giddy, clearly not absorbing how serious the words truly were. Keith nodded his head for a few seconds, not trusting himself to speak around the size of his emotions. He was suddenly brought back to the years alone on the whale, when all he’d had to keep him going was memories of his friends, of Lance. “Yeah.” Keith said, more certainty in his voice now. He reached down, hesitantly threading his fingers through Lance’s and giving his hand a squeeze. Lance tensed next to him. “I still do.”

“I mean, I’m right here.”

“Are you? You still seem pretty far away.”

TRUTH SERUM

#No Filter by VanamesGurl – While on a random planet, Keith gets bitten by a bug that forces him to blurt out every little thought that flits through his pretty head. Poor Lance is in a state of being constantly flustered, and Keith just wants it to end.
This is gonna be wild.

Uhhhhhhh.

truth comes out (a little at a time) by: thethirdmuse – On a mission, Keith comes face to face with a creature whose venom is known to be deadly to the local people. It seems that for Galra however, the effect is less dangerous; the Galra-equivalent of truth serum. It’s all fun and games…until it’s not.

MISC.

The Gift by: greenteafiend– Rating: M22,167 – Excerpt: Lance was officially weirded out. By Keith. Keith was acting very weird.

But it was a subtle sort of weird that no one else seemed to have noticed, the type of weird that would make the others think that he was weird for noticing it in the first place.

Keith didn’t rise to any of his jabs. Keith didn’t poke fun at him. Keith followed Shiro’s orders to the letter and didn’t pull any dangerous stunts. Keith barely even talked.

Lance was going to get to the bottom of it.
